My hand is always so sore after playing Mario Kart 7?

I played it for the first time yesterday (got it for Christmas) and 30 seconds through the first race I played, I had to pause the game because there was a sore ache from the part of my hand near the thumb (I don't know the biological names for these XD) and my wrist on my right hand. 0.o I don't want the wheel, I think it's a bit awkward for a portable system plus I'm happy playing it without one except for the fact that it hurts. I use the turbo boosters a lot, which probably has something to do with it, because of the way my right hand's positioned when I'm playing it; it's my strategy for winning races, but I used this on the DS version too and as far as I remember I never had to pause 2 - 3 times in a race to massage my hand, and I can't resort to it during WiFi, either. I just want to know if this has happened to anyone else? And if it has, what did you do?

You're likely just experiencing a sore that will go away soon. Try to play it differently next time, take longer breaks. If it starts looking serious, you should see a doctor.

I would venture to say that you're just flexing some muscles that you've never flexed before.

Make sure to take breaks often and you should get used to it over time!

I had this problem to. It seems from holding too tightly. I got the battery pak plus and that has made a huge difference holding it. I don't feel like I need a "bear grip" on it and haven't felt it since.

I didn't get in the first race, it was more so playing for a half hour to 45 minutes.

I got a little stand when I purchased Kid Icarus. It may look ridiculous, but it helps soooo much! My wrists are no longer tired, I can play better and it displays my screen at the right angle.

I've had similar problems with my left hand (with the circle pad.) If I play for about several hours on a game like LoZ: OoT 3D then the base of my thumb aches quite badly. I also have to pause periodically to move my thumb back to the middle of the circle pad. I guess I was just used to the larger Dsi XL. I think if it doesn't get less frequent then you should see a doctor, like Fortissimo said.

    Stop masturbating while playing.

Kidding, it's impossible to get sore from masturbating.

i had the same problems. i think it is because of the non-rounded edges.they are sharp and pointy and dig into your palms. the 3ds xl has rounded has rounded corners and larger to prevent cramps. try that out if it keeps bothering you!
