Thread: Check out my GC style Joysticks on my N64!

I just picked these up and installed them. Dear lord, if you want to really experience gameplay the right way on the N64, BUY THESE JOYSTICKS. They are SO smooth compared to the rough stock joysticks, roll instead of tilt (like GC sticks) which is much more comfortable, and look like they're made by Nintendo. Just sitting there the controller looks stock, until you notice that instead of a stick that pivots in a pit, it's a ball tilt mechanic like that on a GC.

Unlike others, these are the same color and look as the stock joysticks. The first version had a black base, instead of a dark grey base. Also these joysticks are the same height as the original sticks, unlike the first model where the joysticks were far too low.

It's funny, when you're deep into a game, like Rogue Squadron, you have to remind yourself that they're not stock. The tip feels like it's stock with the same plastic and ridges, and since you're not fighting a poorly working joystick, you can actually get sucked into a game and not think about how bad the control is.

It makes certain games like Waverace a breeze, as moving your craft through tight racing lines is much easier than pushing a large tilting stick which was very inaccurate. And the best part? You don't have to constantly be trying not to press too hard on the joysticks in fear of making them "chalky". You can play the way you want to play.WP_000279.jpg

I too have the GC style ball socket joystick replacement on my N64 controller, it's amazing. Those original joysticks wear out way too fast.

I have a Red N64 controller...the Joystick is broken but at least the only game I can play with it is Dr.Mario 64 XD

Ha nice ! I loved that game

I need to get one... I haven't played with my personal favorite Atomic Purple N64 controller in ages because of the broken joystick.

It's an easy install. The cord's pin that plugs into the board is longer than the stock one, so it doesn't need to go as far in the socket. Other than figuring that out, it was a really easy install. Totally worth the cash!
