Well Shigeru Miyamoto announced this title not too long ago and it looks interesting. What do you guys think? I never played the first 2.

It's fun but difficult (At least for me)

I can't wait for this, and can't believe it could be a launch title for the Wii U!

I think it'll be amazing on WiiU, especially in HD. The Pikmin fans have long awaited this elusive game...

I sure am glad you posted this bcuz I feel kind of ashamed I have never played the first 2 game either but have heard nothing but positive from those who have. Maybe this will be the title that can convert my wife to a gamer for good. Regardless anything Miyamoto is involved with is usually epic anyway.

I LOVED the first 2. I do hope they have something up their sleeves to make this one surpass its predecessors. I especially hope they bring back co-op...Wi-Fi co-op would be amazing...

I actually liked the first one a lot more than the second. Unfortunately I've lost my copies of the games.

I miss Pikmin. I'll be getting it when the Wii U comes out.

yea. I've never played it. I have seen the LPs and its a good game. I can't wait to play it.

I really enjoyed the original game, but I was TERRIBLE at the game. I don't think I ever finished it. I hated how the game had a 30 day time limit. I never did play the 2nd game, I hear it was much better than the first.

I think the 3rd game will be nothing short of amazing. I may have to give it a whirl!

The first Pikmin was a classic game. It was pretty tough though, and the final level was nasty. I came to accept the thirty day limit--you just had to do stuff over and over again until you go it right, it was kind of old school in that regard. The second one--meh. I know I'm in the minority on that one, but it just didn't do it for me like the first one did. It's still a fairly good game, and it had some interesting improvements from the first like the dual squad control. The lack of a time limit was okay, but still didn't eliminate having to re-do your days. I thought the dungeons, which are such a big part of the game, were pretty poorly done. Never finished the second one, I got bored with it. But I can't wait for the third one. It looks beautiful, and it sounds like a combination of the first two, gameplay-wise.

I can't wait for this game it is going to be fantastic. This should be one of the best Nintendo launch window games in a while.
I just hope that Nintendo makes this game as great as the previous installments in the series, actually, even better.

I'm holding out hope that it's the best one yet myself. But it would be hard to top the first one. Such a wacky blend of action, puzzle solving and real time strategy (which the second one kind of lacked). Either way, I'm sure it will be a very good game. Have you seen the video of that boss battle in the demo? All kinds of cool.

I am like a few in this thread in that I have never played a Pikmin game. In fact, I don't think I have ever heard of it before the E3 presentation of the Wii U. It looks like something that I would enjoy, sort of puzzles and strategy. I was thinking about picking up the Wii version of Pikmin 2 and play with it on the Wii U (when ever I get it as I didn't pre-order and am one of the 250,000+ on the waiting list) to see if I would be interested in Pikmin 3.

Get 1 and 2 and play them now...you are truly missing out! Can't wait for 3.

the first one is HARD! i never beat it. i really like it thought. i HIGHLY recommend this game. it is challenging but really fun. the second one is less challanging because there is no active timer and is a little sanboxy. the third one brings back the timer as well as new pikmin types. i suggest you buy the st one in the new play control series on the wii. try it out i think you would like it. after you get hooked preoreder pikmin 3 and await the fun. it is one of my favorite series.

Buddy, get back in there and finish the first game. It's hard, but it's all strategy, you just have to find out how to do certain things.
I've beaten it like six times, I can help you if need be.

well i think the reason was that i played it as a kid. i got to like levl 6 then i quit. i think that tragic moment scared my life and i never played it again. i think i should be a real champ and finally beat this game! good thing i still got my cube!

After you beat it, you should then try to attempt an under 15 day run. I don't remember my record at the moment...

uhhh. uhh. that just terrifies me. i think i will play pikmin 3 than go back to 1 after i get new vigor!

Wait... What is it about it that terrifies? The pressure of doing everything fast, or is there a specific scarring monster in the game for you?

just the fact that i could never beat it normally so the fact of doing it faster is more challanging. i can probably do it now. the only thing that was bad about the first one is the terrible camera control. UH! that was terrible, but now its fixed with the wii mote.

I don't remember their being a problem with the camera... I actually found the Wii version camera control worse, because it was on the D-pad, so I could accidentally change it when I'm trying to control my Pikmin.

Ive never played a Pikmin game. But I am quite excited and I am going to buy the first 2 soon.

Theres 2 player co-op right? Because that would be awesome to introduce it to my brother who is a fan of RTS games.

The first 2 games are just single player, but the second game has a co-op challenge mode that you can unlock. We don't know the multiplayer features of the third game yet.

Well, I picked up the Wii version of Pikmin 2 and I am really enjoying it. Recently got the Blue Pikmin in my squad (took me some time to figure out that even though my pikmin won't walk through water I can) Currently I am seeing my pikmin get slaughtered in Subterrainian Complex, so I'm working on different strategies. But I'm loving the game and looking forward to Pikmin 3, which I noticed now is showing a release date of 5/1/13 on Gamestop. Not sure if that is accurate, but between Nintendoland, Super Mario Bro, and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (in stores 3/31/13), I have more than enough to keep me busy.

I never played the first two either, but am consider getting it, heard many good thing about the series

I had heard but never played the game, but the graphics look amazing in HD and the gameplay looks interesting enough to keep me interested. Though I'm sure those hardcore fans who have been waiting for 10 years are going to be amazingly excited for it, hopefully it won't leave them disappointed.

Really looking forward to this coming out
