    Persona 5: Japanese vs English?

I don't know how many people here are interested in the game but it's fairly popular.

Atlus delayed the game awhile back and are adding dual audio, what are you going to play in and why? I am having trouble deciding so this may help. The problem is that I don't really have much English videos to go off of to compare to.

If I ever played it it would be in English, so I don't have to read the cutscenes.

My hesitation to immediately choose Japanese is this

Persona 5 English cast is good and I feel like it would be a waste for me to ignore a cast that put effort into the characters

At the same time the game is set in Tokyo Japan and I like the voices as much as the English ones I've seen so far. The cast is apparently very top tier (Morgana is voiced by Pikachu's voice actor I heard) so they slammed down some cash to get big voice actors, plus the game wasn't even gonna have dual audio in the first place.

I have until April 4 to decide

You could always do two playthroughs. I'm sure this game will be worth putting that much time into.

    It's a 90+ hour game tho

I'm leaning towards Japanese currently unless I can hear more English dialogue.

What do you think of Morgana? My favorite character in the game and likely won't change so it's good I like both versions

Ok sure, I've played the Japanese version through to about 50% completion so I'll weigh in.

The Japanese voice acting is...fine. Not great, just fine. Morgana to me is the only stand out, the others are suitable to slightly interesting. None is particularly engaging, it's one of the main reasons I decided to leave the game at 50% so I could wait for the English dub. It didn't really interest me all that much.
I also prefer the the English dub on Persona 4 to the Japanese as I fell it's more suitable.

You can get through the game in a about 40 hours, start NG+ and switch it up. Those long hours are going to be up to you and how much you want to grind.
Story is good, gameplay is excellent and the game looks beautiful even on the PS3 which is where I have my copy.

I didn't engage with the Japanese voice actors, thought they were good to decent, nothing special for me.
    Game itself is wonderful.

I checked out rise's and teddie's voice in persona 4 (Japanese)

And nope, I couldn't play the game like that. They are so annoying in their original language imo.

Is there any characters with annoyingly high pitched voices like rise and Teddie Jap versions?

Yeah Rise especially bugs the crap out of me.
Nothing quite as egregious as that in P5 but there are some kinda of pitchy/screechy characters at times.
Nothing I hate all that much.
Actually come to think of it I haven't really hacked out any English voice acting yet.

There are English trailers but I can't find any English gameplay without commentary over it.

Finally! The opening gameplay in p5 has English footage. I already watched this in Japanese.

In English, it sounds pretty good!
