    Black Ops 2 Changes

Not sure how many COD fans we have here, but I am really excited for Black Ops 2. I have been playing COD on Wii for the past couple of years, and really enjoy the Wii remote and chuk controls. Treyarch has done an exceptional job over the past couple years making a pretty complete COD experience on the Wii. I am excited for COD on Wii U, finally going to get the 60fps that will really make the Wii Remote and Chuk controls shine.

The new score streaks sound like a big improvement as well. Its about time that the player who chooses a killstreak that rewards the whole team, gets rewarded as well. It will be nice getting points for kills that my teammates get when my UAV is up in the sky. League play sounds great as well, its about time the game matches up players of similar abilities. I want to be competitive, and its no fun to be completely crushed in a match. It also gets old destroying other teams as well. I want more matches that come down to the final seconds for victory. I think league play will encourage people to actually play the objective in objective based matches. I think very high KDR's are going to be far tougher to get when you are playing against players on a similar skill level. Its about time players start caring about wins more than they do about their KDR.

I am also excited about the 10 point system for loadouts. I rarely use my secondary weapon, so it will be nice to create a loadout with an extra attachment or perk instead of the secondary weapon. I also like the idea that only attachments affect the weapon, and perks affect the player. I will be curious to see if the game allows you to choose equipment more than once. For instance, could i have a loadout that gives me 5 claymores? I would hope not, but you never know.

I am just glad Treyarch is trying to make some serious changes. They are doing their best to discourage camping, and to encourage playing the objective. I like the idea of playing in the not to distant future. Similar weapons to what we use now, but with some reasonable advances in technology. Looking forward to playing in less than a month.

I lost a lot of interest in Call of Duty games - haven't played one since MW2, but Black Ops 2 actually looks interesting. I guess the whole futuristic thing appeals to me.

I never played the original Black Ops, and I am not a huge multi-player gamer, but I am kind of interested in the potential. It's not a Day 1 for me, but I am actually interested in what this game has to offer.

Ive played BO 1 on my cousin's PS3, and enjoyed it. MW3 was a big insult to the franchise. But even those who hav lost interest in COD in the last few years should at least try out BO2- and on the definitive version(eg the Wii U version). the Wii U will hav more optiobs for controllers, more people playong objective (Cod Wii players all usually play the objective,an Scorestreaks should help), and the same experience u get from other consoles.

I honestly feel like MW3 was a much better game than BO1. It seems like the single argument that everyone has when comparing the two is "Black Ops had zombies!" which is just tired. Felt that the game mechanics and netcode were much better.

I haven't got a clue how it was on Wii or how it will be on the Wii U, but if it's anything like 360 then you can count me out.
The bolded is just a symptom of CoD multiplayer overall. Find safe spot > pick right gun > camp and win. At the very least they are tweaking the game a little to have more options to counter this - the most notable being the change to Ghost - but I can't imagine it changing too drastically.

As for the mic comment...just lol. I don't think I've ever joined a random game where people were actually trying to coordinate their movements as a team. All I ever got were a ton of cocky little kids and e-thugs. Played various games in the series on both 360 and PS3, and it was always the same. Maybe the Wii U will be different since it's a brand new console though.

Plan on getting this game at some point, just unsure of when. Want to see how everything plays out first.

actually, i couldn't care less about Zombies- i actually liked survival better. But MW3 had guns that shot WAY too fast (yes BO had that, but i dint feel it as much), darker maps (and the lighting is bad on the Wii version, so you can't see anyone in certain areas), and there are more good maps in BO (Nuketown,Firing Range,Summit-which is a better winter map than Outpost imo, Jungle, WMD, Launch VS Dome, Mission, Seatown, and Underground). I would have liked MW3 if these problems didnt exist. Btw, it is the only CoD game I actually own, and still I prefered the experience I had with Black Ops.

I've actually never heard that from BO fans. The reasons BO is superior are numerous, obvious, and certainly more compelling than the difference between zombies and mook mode.

The weapons were far more balanced, and appropriately compromised. There may have been a couple of guns which rose to the top in terms of useage (famas), but you could compete with just about anything. I used to rock the G11, the stoner, and the ak74 fairly consistently, they were all great fun but were easily countered (and the ak47, commando, and steyr were all as good). In MW3 you can do everything with the akimbo FMG's, they have a ridiculous fire rate AND effective range, have huge clips and are far more accurate than is possible. Between that, the silly pp90m1 (raipd fire, phwooaaar!), and sniper rifles which can no-scope one shot you in the body, the game is borked by allowing guns to work outside of their ranges. It's like IW wanted everyone to be competitive with any gun in any situation, it is ridiculously shallow.

I'd also say that the maps in MW3 are, by and large, utter crap. In an effort to stamp out camping, all choke points have been infused with seventy-billion flanking paths. Interchange is just a flank of a flank of a flank. Playing on these tiny maps with no long open areas (snipers redundant), and millions of alternate paths, is incredibly intense, but entirely without rhythm.

I can't say that i even encountered more camping in BO either, but by god there was a huge difference of play style induced by the maps. Array reminded me of ghost recon, where squads could move tactically, take and hold positions (high ground, suppression snipers!), and still be flushed out by a concerted effort. Then you had Nuketown which was a frantic whirlwind of chaos. Most maps sat somewhere between those two extremes, it offered a broad spectrum of gameplay which is incredibly obviously missing from MW3.

And that is some of why i am excited for BO2.

I enjoy the CoD games simply because of the fact, for me anyway, is that it's one of those games where I can just plop on the couch and just run around and mindlessly shoot things and not really have to focus. And I actually do enjoy the single player campaigns in the CoD games. It's kind of like Madden to me where they always come out with a new one every year and as long as they don't completely demolish it and turn it into a totally different new game, I'm always going to enjoy the simplicity. (You can probably tell that I'm not one of those "OMG K/d ratio!" dweebs )

What sold me to buy the Wii U version over 360? PLAYING IT IN BED ON THE GAMEPAD! Awwww yeah!

If Call of Duty was more like Ghost Recon online, I'd play it a lot more.
I used to get a tactical group every now and then in Modern Warfare 1 and World at War. Of course, not everyone on the team would participate, but it was pretty cool when we worked as a team. Of course, this was before the influx of people doing "360, no-scope, dolphin-dive everyone has seen this type of kill before but I'll die 18 times and make the team lose to get it once so I can scream down the mic at what I just did" kills and disregarding their team completely (sorry for the rant).
I dont mind snipers finding a spot to to snipe, but quick scoping and no scoping are bogus. If you were to shoot one of these sniper rifles without having it locked to your shoulder, it would break your hand or your arm. Sniper rifles should not be able to be fired from the hip or until they are in full ADS.

The last CoD I played was World At War. Have they fixed the really annoying thing in the series where in single player, you often get caught at what feels like a wall of endless soldiers, and the only way to get past is to kill the soldiers in a certain way so they don't respawn? I really hated that about that game.

Also, as someone who could care less about multi player, I really wish the single player was longer. I'm VERY interested in this game. I like the modern setting, and the commercials are selling it well. But I'm apprehensive about spending 60 bucks on a game that will last me one night, ya know?

The "unlimited waves of soldiers" thing is used in CoD games to force you to push through a firefight instead of sitting back and picking them off first. All MMS (modern military shooters) force you to play through their linear campaigns in a very specific way, this just happens to be one of CoD's staples.

You can certainly do better for single player experiences. It's a shame the market has skewed towards this kind of game, but i think we're starting to see a reemergence of the rougelike (deus ex except for the second one, dishonoured, theif 4). So single player "shooters" should be making a bit of a comeback. I'd certainly wait on a review for BO2 if you want to pick it up for the campaign, they've made some positive changes but there's probably a long way to go until it's worth the price of admission alone.

If u don't like the multiplayer (which I do not really understand, but it is your opinion), then it is ur lucky day,er, game! The Black Ops II multiplayer seems to be really good (it is the only CoD game that has made me excited for the singleplayer AND the multiplayer), and it even has branching story lines.
I think MW3 messed up the series for many ppl, but I think Black Ops II, if it really does improve the series, may put it back on track to be one of the best series i know (after Zelda,Mario, SSB, and Metroid)

    gamrConnect Forums - Black Ops 2 Launch Guide (Wii U True 720p HD 60fps, 360/ps3 SUB-HD)

Looks like the 360 and PS3 versions are even being advertised as sub HD and has a max framerate of 60. While the Wii versions is listed as HD, not full HD, but also says it has a framerate of 60fps, not a max framerate, meaning that it should be more or less stable at 60fps.
