CAN WII U RUN UNREAL ENGINE 4???????


The Wii U is capable of running Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4, according to company Vice President Marc Rein. He goes on to say, though, that Epic has no plans to port the engine themselves, but that developers would be able to port games using that engine to the system.

He clarifies this statement by saying that "We'll run on mobile phones and on a wide variety of things, so if a customer decides they want to port an Unreal Engine 4 game to Wii U, they could," but emphasizes that "Unreal Engine 3 is a really good fit for that platform."
Epic's senior PR manager Dana Cowley also points out that "beyond the PC, we haven't confirmed any other platforms for Unreal Engine 4."

edit: yah so it can, but Nintendo may not actually use it, but games using it can be ported. Got it, so Nintendo should be able to get games from Epic

yes, I dont have doubts anymore, theyll be using Unity4 engine and thats good enough

edit: but the topic i havent seen for awhile, but yah i relize, as long as they get those ports or well be missing some awesome games. This was a big reason alot of people were mad at nintendo cause ur4 is a big deal, or at least the games that may come

I always believe after all the hardcore talk it would be ludacris for it not to be able to support UE4. Plus since it can support full UE3 it would not sense if it could not use some scalable form of UE4.

It is great news. It means we will not have to worry about not getting third party games.

but remember awhile back, Nintendo partnered with Unity and it is a generic equivalent of UR4

cool! thanks for explaining engines and graphics and such. i dont get it!but will 720 and ps4 run unreal 5?!?!?!?!??!and can the wii u!!?!??!?! i dont know if that is even possible so...

, no, they(PS4/720 will run UR4 there is no better engine right now. Its new, none uses it yet, and will be the leading engine for 5 years

Unreal engine 5 wont be out for another 4 year's.

And when it does come out,the wii u will be able to run that as well....

Dont worry we are in good hand's with wii u.
