    Official Skyward Sword discussion thread

Everything about the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is discussed here, be it new screen shots, videos, information, or just discussion.

We know that it's being released this holiday season, and comes bundled with a Golden Wiimote Plus that has the Triforce symbol. How awesome is that?

    Discuss.

I hope the side quests are plentiful like in Majora's Mask. I want this game to last me awhile...seeing as it's probably going to be my last Wii game.

Looks good, but not my favorite.
It only looks good because of it's 1080p.

Some of you may hate me for this, but I just can't get into the Zelda series -- I don't find it interesting at all.

    Zelda Skyward Sword

Surprised this no thread for this yet with all our Zelda fans out there.

Anyone reserve it yet, or are you waiting to reserve that golden controller bundle? I haven't yet, likely will soon.

I've sold my Wii, sadly. So I'm now having to rely on one of my friends to get this game; (so I can sneak over and play it!)

Really?!! I won't be selling mine ever, too many VC games and lots of enjoyable games. I also need to be able to play my Gamecube games too.

When I get the Wii U, it will be put into storage (with the cube games) once all my content is moved to Wii U (if possible)

I love all things Zelda. The lore, the games. I never did get a chance to play the oracles games on the handhelds, but I will once they (hopefully) are for download on the 3ds.

OT: GOLD WIIMOTE PLUS?! News to me! I hope that doesn't artificially jack the price up, cuz I already have 4 wiimotes.

@jibbyjackjoe It has motion plus and the Hylian Crest as well. It's unknown whether this is sold seperately or bundled with the game.

I'm up to 6 Wii remotes now, will be trading in 2 of them soon enough. I wanted (a) black motion plus one as I don't like that motion plus accessory piece (like the way it attaches to the remote, and how it alters the feel of the wiimote). I'm interested if the price is right, I ain't paying full price for another remote, although I really do want it.

I'll probably be picking up a copy of the game that has the Hylian remote packaged in and giving one of my current remotes to my parents.

My big hope for Skyward Sword is that they have the classic overworld theme, as heard in the original and A Link to the Past.

The first time I played Ocarina of Time I didn't, but this time I did find Saria's Song very catchy. I have no idea why I didn't the first time. The Skyward Sword trailer looks amazing, I can't wait!

So do you guys reckon those birds Link and Zelda rode will replace Epona when you're in the sky? I know you'll make it to Hyrule at some point, but...

I think we can assume they will, yes. Although I'll miss Epona for the nostalgia, I'm sure she'll be back in a later game. And I can't wait to fly, especially on the Wii; it wouldn't be as good on a handheld.

Looks awesome except I don't really like the half-cell shaded half-realism graphics style. I'm sure it'll grow on me mind. When I get it, I'll have a red classic controller and re wii remote plus and a gold classic controller and gold wii remote plus. Yay for matching! \o/

Using such a graphics style allows for cooler characters that would look awkward if the style was realistic like Twilight Princess. I love Twilight Princess, but its realistic graphics style limited the environment and enemy designs creativeness. I think Skyward Sword's graphics style feels like a hybrid between Twilight Princess and WW/PH/ST.

Awesome! I pre-ordered in June, and I'm definitely looking forward to this game. I recently bought a motion plus controller just so I could play this game.

Actually, the game is coming out very late. It was supposed to release in 2010. It was delayed, probably because Miyamoto decided to allow it to be orchestral at the last minute, which set everything back.

I feel like they are getting the graphics finally right with this game. I know what they tried to do with Windwaker, and I loved it, but it put so many people off. Which is sad, because Windwaker is a great game. Twilight Princess is just so dark, I don't feel immersed like I want to be in the world. Skyward Sword will be, as someone already said, the best blend for the games and hopefully will be what we get to look forward to here on in with this franchise.

    What are you waiting for??!!

I also pre-ordered the bundle with the golden remote. I'm on a quest replacing original controllers with Motionplus built in. That accessory was a terrible idea.

I just got Nayru's Flame from the Sandship. I don't really like anything to do with Lanayru , but that's just me. It's too surreal. But I love Faron Woods and Eldin Volcano! The Kikwis are my favorite race in this game. Bucha is huge!

^Unfortunately I take forever with home console games because I'm only allowed on the TV after 11pm on Friday's and Saturday's, and then I get tired. Which sucks. XD But I'm almost finished. >:3

Skyward Sword wasn't one of my favorites. It was a little weak in my eyes. Yes the game was technically Brilliant, like Super Mario Galaxy 2, but I just didn't feel the heart of it. It felt Like I was only playing the game, instead of the game fully engaging me. But anyway Rant over. This game has a great soundtrack, one of the best, and fantastic story. But other than that it has no salt. The great sky is barren and empty, unlike the great sea in Wind Waker. There are almost no side quests to do in hyrule, and it relies on the "Godess" Cubes which are a good idea without that extra lick of paint. Skyloft has almost nothing to do, save maybe 5 side quests. Also the controls are disappointing. They acted up all the time and were never accurate. The one thing hated most of all though was Fi: I loved her character and (spoiler alert) The Last cutscene with her is amazingly touching. But she babied you Waaaaayyyyy too much, she would hand you the answer to you on a silver platter. It was like she had game faqs in her head. But honestly this is a VERY good game and is definitely worth picking up. Zelda will always be a favorite of mine.

the side quests are actually kinda good. there are plenty of extra things to do. they are theses things called goddess stones that are hidden through out the whole world. and when you hit one treasure chests pop up in another place. so you have to find the stones(really really hard!) then you got to find the chest and then you get some cool items.there are also theses thing called gratitude crystals. basically remember the ocarina of time side quest thing. where you get this from guy a you go to guy b get something.its kinda like that but a little different. a guy asks you for something, then you have to get theses crystals. you get these crystals by doing different things for people( and sometimes theses take a while). and other crystals are just hidden randomly! all in all i think there is plenty of things to do. and plus i love the fact how you can upgrade your items and weapons. that is just freakin awesome!

I played the original Zelda on NES and not any others since then. I got the Wii U knowing a Zelda would come out sooner or later and it is easily my most anticipated going forward until 2014 when it finally releases!
